Hi tcaorf14,
Welcome to the HVAC group! It is important to give the system a thorough visual inspection for safety and efficiency of combustion and you will more than likely find the problem. Check the combustion chamber for cracks. Test for CO and remove causes. Observe electric control operations and make adjustments. Inspect thermostat location and heat anticipator adjustments. Remove dirt, rust, or other debris that may be interfering with the burners. Clean the heat exchanger if necessary. Test draft and take action to improve draft, if inadequate because of improper venting, leak, or depressurization. Remove blockages and repair leaks in the heating distribution system. Good Luck!
