Thanks for your comment. I was picturing a small unit, working at the compressor with a front seated valve. If the compressor has to pull from the suctioin side, it seems the refrigerant would have to enter the compressor and then be bypassed into a tank somewhere. I don't know how the refrigerant can pump itself into a tank.
