It is go at your own pace so you can do as many lessons and exams as you want per week. You control the speed of the courses. The one lesson per week for eight weeks is just a recommendation to keep students on track. If you're a non-degree student there's no time limit on your courses or degree...so you can go as fast or as slow as you want to. The first four semesters of the AS are pretty much the same for the BS degree...so you'd have the same classes no matter what. You can go for you AS and then enroll for a BS and the credits you got for the AS will be transferred for the BS degree so you'd only have to take last four semesters of the BS degree.
