I am just starting my studies in this field (finally!) although I've dreamed of working in Law Enforcement my whole life.
I have been working as a licensed insurance producer for several years now and found that it just wasn't what I wanted for a career. I did not enjoy the work at all so I decided to research what I needed to become experienced in private investigation. That's when I found out about colleges that offered course work and I became extremely excited! I'm looking forward to learning all that I can but as I've said, I'm concerned it won't be enough to get my foot in the door.
I am wondering/concerned about the importance of having past work history in private investigation or some sort of law enforcement. How important is past work history with regards to starting my career once I've graduated from college? Will the college diploma speak louder than past experience? Is anyone in this field now? I'd really appreciate any advice offered. Thank you and happy studying!
